Pietro Lappi (c.1575 - c.1630) was an Italian composer
in the Renaissance period.
Pietro Lappi was a chapel master in Santa Maria delle
Grazie in Brescia from 1593 . He composed mostly sacred
music . The only exception is op. 9, with 22 Songs to
Play at 4-13 instruments, book 1, printed in Venice in
1616 , example of instrumental music in the style of
the Brescia School. Another of his books printed in
1613 includes both works in the late Renaissance and

In 1621 Pietro Lappi dedicated Psalm 112, Laudate pueri
- to 16 voices from "Psalms with three and four chori
concertati" for four choirs with four voices, cornets ,
trombones , violins , violas and viola . For this
composition, Salzburg Cathedral was the ideal acoustic
setting.
