Inspired after rediscovering the Rachmaninoff Piano
Concerto "No. 5" in E minor, I created this Fantasy for
Flute & Piano. The title reflects this pieces imagery
rather than the musical form, as it is not an actual
fantasy.
It should be noted that Soviet émigré Alexander
Warenberg, a composer for film and television, arranged
Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 as a concertante work for
piano and orchestra. The work contains majority of the
source material from Rachmaninoff's Second Sympho...(+)

piano and orchestra. The work contains majority of the
source material from Rachmaninoff's Second Symphony
with some original scoring by Warenberg, modification
of the original score and a change to many of the
score?s harmonies "to improve the sound and balance".
