Lena van der Hoven widmet sich in ihrem Buch der musikalischen Repräsentationskultur von drei Hohenzollern-Herrschern des 18. Jahrhunderts. Sie untersucht deren jeweiliges musikalisches Konzept, aber auch den damit einhergehenden sozialgeschichtlichen Wandel. Dieser Wandel gründete vor allem in spezifischen politischen Herausforderungen, denen sich die drei preußischen Könige gegenüber sahen. Im Fokus stehen Friedrich I. (1657-1712), der die Königswürde erstrebte und erlangte, sodann Friedrich II. (1712-1786) und der Aufstieg Preußens zur Großmacht unter den Insignien der Aufklärung, schließlich die Neupro-filierung Friedrich Wilhelms II. (1744-1797) als König angesichts eines erstarkenden Bürgertums an der Wende zum Industriezeitalter. Die Autorin zeichnet damit eine rasante kulturelle Entwicklung nach: vom ersten preußischen Monarchen und dem Übergang vom Sing-Ballett zur Oper bis hin zum letzten preußischen König des 18. Jahrhunderts, der für seine Repräsentationsbedürfnisse die Theater- und Opernbühne einsetzte - und ähnlich seinem Onkel Friedrich II., der die Flöte spielte, erfolgreich das Violoncello bediente, ja sich sogar einfügte in die Disziplinierungen bürgerlicher Musikübung./ Livre / Livre

As a continuation of the new Urtext edition of the Schubert lieder, Walther Dürr has now edited volume five for high, medium and low voices. Volumes 1 to 4 of this edition contain mainly lieder which Schubert himself saw into print (in his own choice and order) and in the fourth volume works from the last two years of his life are included. The lieder in volume 5 onwards are strictly presented in the order of Deutsch's Thematic Catalogue which means that in principle they are arranged chronologically. The lieder in volume five were composed in the years 1811 to 1814. The first - 'Hagars Klage' (D 5), dated 30 March 1811 - is also his first complete surviving song. The first eleven lieder are evidence of his early studies (1811-1813/14). During this period Schubert immersed himself in Johann Rudolf Zumsteeg's ballads and lieder and wrote Italian arias during his composition lessons with Antonio Salieri. He also composed a single strophic song ('Klaglied', D 23), which - the only one of these songs - was published shortly after his death in November 1830 as op. 131, 3. His apprentice work, as it were, was the major ballade 'Der Taucher' (D 77) which was composed between 1813 and roughly the beginning of 1815. Probably not by chance, his first complete opera ('Des Teufels Lustschloss', D 84) was written at the same time. Ode For St. Cecilia'S Day. Par HAENDEL GEORG FRIEDRICH. Haendel composa le poème de John Dryden 1736 la 'Fête d'Alexandre ou la puissance de la Musique' sous la forme d'une cantate en deux parties. À la suggestion du baron Gottfried van Swieten 1790 Mozart édité cette ode en l'honneur de sainte Cécile. Ce traitement était la traduction allemande du poème par Karl Wilhelm Ramier base à partir de 1770.
