Our Trip To Bethlehem

Our Trip To Bethlehem
In the end of November, my band and I got us a trip to
Bethlehem, Palestine with our hometown friendship
orginazation Sarpsborg - Bethlehem. They asked us to join
them on they yearly trip to the Holy Land.

We did our concerts as planned, and we got a lot of positive
feedbacks from those who showed up. We even had a concert
with local college students who played their folk music, and
the local residents seemed to like our music, wich is jazz,
Norwegian folk music, latin, and American folk songs. />

It was an experience of a lifetime!

Thank you!

"Dynamic First" & "Cooperation"

"Dynamic First" & "Cooperation"
The last week, I've added two new pieces here at
FreeScores.com, Dynamic First and Cooperation.

I decided to compose these two pieces for snare drum and
percussion ensemble, because many drummers don't
understand that every stroke on a drum, is supposed to be
music. These two pieces is composed to make the drummer
understand that he's playing music on his drum, and not
just a bunch of hits on a dead cylinder with heads on each
side.

The other piece, Cooperation, is composed for three
percussionists. To play this piece right, the ensemble have
to trust themselves and each other and cooperate all the
way. This is a big part of playing together.

I am very interested in to create music while I'm
playing and show passion and joy by playing the drums and
percussion instruments.

love to whem"

- Billy Higgins

I guess that's why we practice? ;-)

Check out this!

These pieces is especially composed for bongos, timbales and
tenor drum. The grooves in these pieces of music is hidden
by 16th notes, but can be found in the ghost notes and
accents.

It was a pleasure to play, and I'm very pleased with
the results!
