Good news if your scores live in other software: the OPUS Reader file manager now accepts many new formats. Just add your file as usual: it is converted automatically within seconds and opens directly in the player. 🆕 New formats

Once imported, these scores benefit from every OPUS Reader feature: audio playback, transposition, practice mode, practice loops, ribbon scrolling, video export, and sync with an MP3 or a YouTube video. Good to know: the new formats are converted to MusicXML, the standard exchange format between music applications. Some guitar-specific effects (bends, slides, harmonics) may not appear after conversion. Real Book style chord charts are coming to OPUS. In your file manager, the ＋ Chart button lets you start from a blank page or import your iReal Pro songs. Import in one move. Copy an irealb:// link from the official iReal Pro playlists or from its forum, where thousands of songs are shared, then paste it: sections, repeats, tempo and key are faithfully preserved. A whole playlist imports at once, duplicates are skipped, and your charts are sorted by genre and composer. Play with a band. Every chart plays back with piano, upright bass and drums in nearly 40 styles: swing, ballad, bossa nova, gypsy jazz, rock, funk, reggae... Set the tempo, transpose to your key, balance the instruments in the mixer and click any bar to jump straight to it. Edit and learn. A dedicated keypad lets you enter chords, sections and repeats in just a few taps. Add guitar, ukulele or piano chord diagrams in one click, and open the Scales panel to see, chord by chord, what to play when improvising. Share. Print a clean A4 chart, export the backing track as MIDI, or send your chart back to iReal Pro. Enjoy playing! |

Over the months, synchronization has extended to almost everything you publish on free-scores.com. Today you can align an MP3 recording with a PDF or MusicXML score, whether public or private in Opus, and you can also synchronize a YouTube video with a PDF or MusicXML score. During playback, the current bar lights up and the score follows the music. Free-scores Studio was created to bring a gateway to everything related to the sound and image of your scores, organized into three areas: Audio sync: find your PDF and MusicXML scores, see at a glance which ones are already synchronized, and start syncing them with an MP3 or a YouTube video. Video with score: create a full video of a score scrolling in time with the music, with the notes highlighted. For MusicXML, this is always possible using the player's sounds, or with your MP3 if it is synchronized. For PDF, as soon as the PDF is synchronized with an MP3. Premium members export in high definition. Promotional video: this is the new feature. In just a few clicks, put together a short clip to showcase a score, a playlist or your composer page, ready to share on TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or YouTube. No synchronization is required; if your score is synchronized, you simply get an extra scene where it scrolls along with the recording. Opus Reader is now a free complete music learning tool. Its Practice Mode lets you work through a score step by step using a MIDI keyboard or a microphone. You can loop a passage, slow down playback, transpose a piece, add annotations, and use fingerings shared by the community. The reader also offers export options, synchronization with MP3 audio or YouTube videos, a scanner for importing sheet music with your smartphone, and a private file manager for local, offline files that can be synced to the cloud. |
