The Cameo AURO® SPOT 400 is a 16-bit RDM compatible servo projector with a resolution of 630° Pan and 235° Tilt, powered by high speed 3-phase motors and equipped with an extremely bright LED. Two gobo wheels, rotating and fixed gobos, two colour wheels and three different rotating prisms provide effective lighting effects with 12 intense colours, split colours and two shades of white. The AURO® SPOT 400 can be controlled in 5-channel, 19-channel and 27-channel DMX mode; it includes automatic operating programs and can be used in Master, Slave or stand-alone mode. It features a motorized focus, a Frost filter, four optimized Dimmer curves, Shake effects and a strobe with up to 20 flashes of lightning per second. The rugged case features a battery-powered display and 6 buttons for convenient offline configuration, 3- and 5-point DMX ports, Neutrik powerCON mains sockets and a low noise, temperature-controlled fan. Round Amp Based on* a Fender® Deluxe Reverb The Deluxe is one of the most recorded amps in history for good reason. This amp is clean, bright, and mid-scooped, with plenty of headroom. At higher Drive settings it delivers an overdriven sound unique to its architecture. We chose the Deluxe s Normal channel for its round tone that plays well with pedals. While preserving access to all the tones originally available with this channel, our model gives you something extra: a midrange control. With the midrange at noon, you get the original fixed-resistor value and standard tonal characteristics of the Deluxe. Turn down the midrange for a more scooped sound, or turn it up for tweed-era tones. Chime Amp Based on* the Brilliant channel of a Vox® AC30TB The amp that defined the guitar sound of the British Invasion. Our model of the AC30TB Brilliant channel is jangly, bright, and chimey, providing air for subtle passages with a light touch, and bite when you want to dig in. For this amp, the Middle knob acts a Tone Cut knob, providing high-end roll-off just before the power tubes, per the original AC30 design. In addition to the full available gain of the original amp, toward the top end of the Drive knob s range of travel, we ve added a frequency-shaped front end boost to tighten the low end while driving the amp further into saturation. Punch Amp Based on* a Marshall® Plexi (Super Lead model number 1959) This powerful amp is meatier, with higher gain than the other two amps, and has a powerful midrange response. This amp features a buttery, smooth overdrive. At higher Drive settings it will deliver all the high gain distortion and growl this amp is known for, and then some. Setting the Drive control at around 2 o clock gets you the maximum gain the original Plexi design allowed. Beyond that, our model has some additional gain on tap, giving you access to custom hot-rodded Plexi high gain tones. Amp Science Our Matrix Modeling process captures all the subtleties and unique character of each amplifier. From the unique composition of each tone stack, to component values, bias levels, corner frequencies, and tube stage gain; all of these factors affect the way a note or chord reacts and evolves over time, and all have been mathematically modeled with the highest fidelity. We included multi-stage power sag, so that the sag response and time constant for each stage of the amplifier is modeled separately, adding further harmonic complexity and realistic feel. We also modeled the compression, limited cone movement, and speaker distortion that can happen at high signal levels. We carefully set the range and taper for each knob to make it easy to dial in a variety of great tones with intuitive, predictable amp-like responsiveness. The amp development began in the tube emulation and cascading gain stage topography created for Riverside, and then majorly leveled up for the intense degree of real-time calculation Matrix Modeling required to create Iridium s amps. We re not just talking about the perfectly recreated tone stacks, but also things like the treble bleed on the gain controls, multi-stage power supply sag, and preamp and power amp tube emulation. Our talented and tireless engineering team covered quite a bit of new ground on the way to recreating these classic amp designs with exact mathematical fidelity, and then expanded the capabilities of each amp in musically useful ways, giving you the full range of original amp sounds, and then some. Impulse Response Technology We knew it was theoretically possible to deliver our goal of 24bit 96kHz 500ms impulse responses, but we had to figure out how to do it in practice. This part of the Iridium project turned out to be a five-year journey through adversity. We started with a smaller proof-of-concept FFT (fast Fourier transform) based IR convolution with shorter-duration mono cab IRs, kept working on it, and eventually tore it all down and rebuilt so we could deliver the 24bit 96kHz 500ms IR cabs that we d dreamed of for Iridium. Hybrid Room Ambience Design With these amazing amps and cabs, we wanted to create amazing spaces for them to live and breathe in. When you are playing in a physical room, the first 80 milliseconds or so of early reflections are what really tell your brain what type of space you re in. The complexity of those myriad early reflections are very difficult to simulate with an algorithm. That s where impulse response technology is the perfect tool for the task. After a certain duration, however, impulse responses become computationally expensive, and that s where the algorithm shines: on the long tail. The algorithmic portions of our room ambience were dialed in for each room, with delay lines tailored to enhance and meld with each specific space and room size. Creating a seamless transition between IR and algorithm was an intensive and artistic process that ultimately resulted in completely natural sounding rooms that feel great to play in and never distract. SHARC and ARM Co-Processors Iridium makes the most of the powerful combination of a high-performance 32-bit floating-point SHARC ADSP-21375 processor working together with an ARM co-processor. The SHARC is the perfect choice for handling the plethora of FFT instructions Iridium s real-time sound processing requires, including adding and subtracting simultaneously. We ve created an optimized high-speed communications link between the two processors, and have maximized what the ARM co-processor can do. Each turn of any of Iridium s knobs sets off a chain of numerous coefficient calculations which we let the ARM co-processor handle, leaving the SHARC free to do its massive computational number crunching full-time at maximum capacity. Currently, we are seeing an explosion of young contemporary guitarists pushing their playing techniques into exciting new directions. We are viewing this trend as the beginning of a third phase of guitar playing. All of us at Ibanez challenge ourselves as guitar designers to step up and answer the needs of this third phase. We found that, in order to fully grasp the expanding range of musical expression created, we must consider the guitar not just as an isolated device, but as an extension of the guitarist's body. If we were to give this phenomenon a name, it would be Synchronizing Guitars and Players. In launching the AZ series, our aim was not to merely create a completely new guitar model, but to sculpt a great guitar that can foster the potential of the modern third phase' while maintaining traditional elements. Even though Ibanez is thought of as a modern guitar brand, we have decades of accumulated knowledge and a history of pushing boundaries. The AZ series carries with it all of the hallmarks of these tried and tested Ibanez qualities: the smooth oval neck grip, the well balanced asymmetrical body shape, and a neck heel that allows unrivaled playability. It also features details such as a new tremolo bridge, as well as new pickups developed in collaboration with Seymour Duncan. All of these elements help the AZ push the existing boundaries of playability and sound even further. We always strive to make our guitars with the finest materials and parts, yet we know that collecting new parts and materials alone do not make a great guitar. Rather, exquisite guitars are made through the processes of examining, testing, understanding, then finally synchronizing these materials together. The harmonic balance between the bridge and pickups, nut and machine heads, neck and fret material, all work together in order to help guitarists create their desired sound. From A to Z, there is no aspect of guitar making that we ever overlook. This tradition has been passed down masterfully to the AZ series. At first glance, the AZ series may seem like an enigma to some. The magic of this new series is not something that may be apparent by just visual observation. The magic, however, does become instantly apparent once an AZ model is played. The AZ series represents the future of guitar playing and we welcome you to play one and see for yourself. AZ Modern Oval C S-TECH WOOD roasted maple 1pc neck S-TECH treated Maple was used for the AZ's neck construction, a first. Its nitrogen-heating treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. After extensive prototyping and trials, we concluded that 20.5mm thickness at the 1st fret and 22.5mm at the 12th fret was the optimal neck thickness for this process. The neck was then sealed with an oil finish, making it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck. Neck Grip In order to achieve supreme neck grip comfort, the fretboard edge was finished with a smooth curve that extends from the border between the fretboard and the neck to the surface of the fretboard. The detailed neck shape was precisely carved using a ball mill for ultimate consistency. The width measurements of the fretboard are 42mm at the nut and 57mm at the last fret. These dimensions allow for an easy grip in the lower register, and a more modern feel in the higher register. Body Design The AZ's shallow back body contour and big forearm contour lets the guitar's body fit the player naturally, thus increasing playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve (3 mmR on body top/8 mmR on body back), making it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions. Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups The AZ's custom Hyperion pickups were developed in collaboration with Seymour Duncan. Hyperion pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to keep the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distortion sound and deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, and from high-E string to low-E string, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted, and works well with various effect pedals. dyna-MIX 9 w/Alter switch The Dyna-MIX 9 offers nine sound variations, and can easily switch between humbucker and single coil modes with just a flick of the mini switch. One Dyna-MIX 9 mode even simulates a humbucker sound using the combination of the two single coil pickups. Ibanez T1802 Tremolo Bridge (made by GOTOH) The new T1802 Bridge, a collaboration between GOTOH and Ibanez, features machined titanium saddles and a machined steel tremolo block for a quick response, thick lows and rich highs. The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings, including techniques such as string skipping and hybrid picking. The snap and hold tremolo arm socket makes it easy to load a tremolo arm, and the arm torque adjuster enables fine torque adjustment without any tools. The 2-point floating tremolo system allows for a super smooth tremolo motion when either raising or lowering the pitch. AZ Modern Oval C S-TECH WOOD roasted maple 1pc neck S-TECH treated Maple was used for the AZ's neck construction, a first. The neck's nitrogen-heating treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. After extensive prototyping and trials, we concluded that 20.5mm thickness at the 1st fret and 22.5mm at the 12th fret was the optimal neck thickness for this process. The neck was then sealed with an oil finish which makes it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck. Neck Grip In order to achieve supreme neck grip comfort, the fretboard edge was finished with a smooth curve that extends from the border between the fretboard and the neck to the surface of the fretboard. The detailed neck shape was precisely carved using a ball mill for ultimate consistency. The width measurements of the fretboard are 42mm at the nut and 57mm at the last fret. These dimensions allow for an easy grip in the lower register, and a more modern feel in the higher register. Body Design The AZ's shallow back body contour and big forearm contour lets the guitar's body fit the player naturally, thus increasing playing comfort. The AZ's body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve (3 mmR on body top/8 mmR on body back), making it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions. Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups The AZ's custom Hyperion pickups were developed in collaboration with Seymour Duncan. Hyperion pickups feature a moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to keep the clarity of the fundamental tone when using a distortion sound and deliver a clear pick attack. From treble to bass, and from high-E string to low-E string, the overall tonal balance is evenly adjusted, and works well with various effect pedals. Dyna-MIX 10 w/Alter switch The Dyna-MIX 10 offers ten sound variations, and can easily switch from humbucker and single coil modes with just a flick of the mini switch. The Power Tap mode provides a realistic single coil sound despite its two humbucker pickup layout. Ibanez T1802 Tremolo Bridge (made by GOTOH) The new T1802 bridge, a collaboration between GOTOH and Ibanez, features machined titanium saddles and a machined steel tremolo block for a quick response, thick lows and rich highs. The 10.5mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings, including techniques such as string skipping and hybrid picking. The snap and hold tremolo arm socket makes it easy to load a tremolo arm, and the arm torque adjuster enables fine torque adjustment without any tools. The 2-point floating tremolo system allows for a super smooth tremolo motion when either raising or lowering the pitch. GOTOH H.A.P-M machine heads The AZ comes with GOTOH MAGNUM LOCK machine heads, which have an established reputation for tuning stability. Its H. A. P (Height Adjustable Post) system allows for the adjustment of string posts for the appropriate tension of each string. At Ibanez, we have always made it a point to study and understand how guitar playing evolves and progresses with music trends over time. Currently, we are seeing an explosion of young contemporary guitarists pushing their playing techniques into exciting new directions. We are viewing this trend as the beginning of a third phase of guitar playing. All of us at Ibanez challenge ourselves as guitar designers to step up and answer the needs of this third phase. We found that, in order to fully grasp the expanding range of musical expression created, we must consider the guitar not just as an isolated device, but as an extension of the guitarist's body. If we were to give this phenomenon a name, it would be Synchronizing Guitars and Players. In launching the AZ series, our aim was not to merely create a completely new guitar model, but to sculpt a great guitar that can foster the potential of the modern third phase' while maintaining traditional elements. Even though Ibanez is thought of as a modern guitar brand, we have decades of accumulated knowledge and a history of pushing boundaries. The AZ series carries with it all of the hallmarks of these tried and tested Ibanez qualities: the smooth oval neck grip, the well-balanced asymmetrical body shape, and a neck heel that allows unrivaled playability. It also features details such as a new tremolo bridge, as well as new pickups developed in collaboration with Seymour Duncan. All of these elements help the AZ push the existing boundaries of playability and sound even further. We always strive to make our guitars with the finest materials and parts, yet we know that collecting new parts and materials alone do not make a great guitar. Rather, exquisite guitars are made through the processes of examining, testing, understanding, then finally synchronizing these materials together. The harmonic balance between the bridge and pickups, nut and machine heads, neck and fret material, all work together in order to help guitarists create their desired sound. From A to Z, there is no aspect of guitar making that we ever overlook. This tradition has been passed down masterfully to the AZ series.
