Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1782 composed his Quintet
for horn, violin, 2 violas and cello KV 407. The
original part is for horn in Eb. In order to make
available the piece for basset horn, we prepared an
arrangement in which the horn part remains unchanged,
whereas the string parts were transposed in order to
agree to a basset horn in F. In order to play the
piece with a normal string quartet, the part of viola 1
is added as violin 2.
