Arrangeur: Elizabeth Walker. Par LECLAIR JEAN-MARIE. Elizabeth Walker has previously arranged four songs for flute and piano by Richard Strauss for ALRY Publications, as well as four 'Songs Without Words' by Felix Mendelssohn for two flutes and piano. This 'Chaconne' by Jean-Marie Leclair is taken from his 'Deuxième récréation de musique', opus 8, originally composed for two flutes or two violins, and basso continuo. It is a long, involved movement lasting approximately 8 minutes: with contrasting major and minor sections, multiple rhythmical, rhetoric and emotional changes. The piece shows influences of flamboyant artistry seen in Italian baroque pieces, but also the formal structures of the French dance form. Elizabeth has addedphrasings, articulations and written out some of the French baroque ornaments to aid a historically informed, stylistic interpretation on modern flutes./ Répertoire / 2 Flûtes Traversières et Piano

Arrangeur: Jeffrey Beyer. Par TELEMANN GEORG PHILIPP. Georg Philipp Telemann's (1681-1767) Gulliver Suite, was composed only two years after the first publication of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels in 1726. In the suite, Telemann embraces Swift's satire by emulating the characters in a variety of musical ways. The five movements are: Intrada, Lilliputian Chaconne, Brobdingnagian Gigue, Reverie of the Laputans and their attendant flappers, and the Loure of the well-mannered Houyhnhnms/Wild Dance of the untamed Yahoos. This edition includes parts transposed for G flutes, such that any combination of flutes can be used. The Lilliputians can be piccolos, and the Brobdingnagians a pair of contra flutes. Arrangeur: Teil Buck. This volume consists of six rags composed by Scott Joplin, arranged for oboe, clarinet and bassoon (trio d'anches) by Teil Buck. The Maple Leaf Rag was first published in 1899 and as a result of its popularity, Joplin was from then on referred to as the 'King of Ragtime.' The Palm Leaf Rag was composed in 1903 while Joplin lived in St. Louis, Missouri and was composed at the same time as his first opera, 'A Guest of Honor,' which was subsequently lost. The Swipesy Cakewalk was composed in 1900 by Scott Joplin along with his composition student Arthur Marshall, whose family he lived with during the late 1890s. The title of The Easy Winners comes from the same sporting expression in which an athlete wins an event without difficulty, and the original cover depicted scenes of baseball, football, horse racing and sailing. The Favorite was composed in 1904, and although not much is known about it, its publication came around the same time as three other famous rags, 'Cascades,' 'The Sycamore,' and 'The Chrysanthemum.' The last piece in the collection, The Entertainer, is one of the most recognizable pieces of music ever written. It was orchestrated and used as the theme music for the 1973 Oscar-winning film 'The Sting,' which heightened its popularity even further./ Répertoire / 3 Hautbois

Par . Hymn Meditations for Flute Alone, arranged by Kathleen A. Melago. This collection of hymn meditations is designed for maximum flexibility for church musicians, yet the meditations could certainly be performed in other settings, like recitals or for personal enjoyment or prayer. The hymns were chosen to ensure options for each liturgical season: Creator of the Stars of Night (Advent), What Child Is This' (Christmas), Were You There' (Lent), At the Lamb's High Feast (Easter), Alleluia, Sing to Jesus (Ordinary Time), and Praise to the Lord (Ordinary Time). Each piece can be performed as written, or in a shorter form which skips the unadorned hymn and focuses on the meditation. While the meditations were composed for flute, they could also effectively be played on the violin. / Date parution : 2022-11-29/ Recueil / Flûte Traversière

for Clarinet and Piano. Par BAXTER GARTH. From the composer: 'During the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020, so many musicians lost opportunities to perform. During that time, I wrote several pieces for friends, including this one for my good friend Jennifer Hughson. Wrapped in the Wind and the Sun is a pastoral work with a kind of wistfulness and autumnal air. I felt the clarinet was the perfect instrument to deliver that sentiment.' / Date parution : 2022-11-29/ Répertoire / Clarinette et Piano
