'Un Dulcito' ("A Little Sweet") is a set of 4
Latin-American dances. Originally for violin and cello
duo, the suite was then adapted for string orchestra.
The second-movement tango ('Tangle') was written in
March 2009 at the request of Jacksonville Symphony
players. The other movements were added soon after, and
tunes used in both the first-movement samba ('Hoodoo')
and fourth-movement rumba ('Rumor') are melodic
transformations of the main 'Tangle' theme.

Performance note for RUMOR--
When performed as finale to the entire suite, RUMOR
concludes with a brief recap of music from the first
movement. If RUMOR is performed as a separate piece,
the HOODOO recap is omitted.
