Got composer's block lately. (Any painless cures
welcome.) BUT, here in France, it is Fête de la
Musique, so some sort of composition is obligatory.
Fête de la Musique, celebrated on the summer solstice,
is an opportunity for musician of all sorts to get out
and do their musical thing. This celebration has been
going on for some decades and has spread to many other
countries, often called "World Music Day."
The little tune in the first part (and last part) is particularly catchy. A great stepping-off place for jazzy improv. Nice. What a great way to celebrate World Music Day in Paris.
↪ Thanks for your kind and supportive comments. Full disclosure: To make the Ditty sound French, I used the rhythmic motif from my favorite Edith Piaf song "Milord."
