Written for St Cecilia's Day 1694 Purcell's popular Te Deum and Jubilate in D was the first work of its kind to be scored for orchestra and it became the model for future settings of the text by Blow Croft and Handel. This new edition by Robert King has been prepared using the earliest available source material combining up-to-date scholarship with a clear and practical layout. The edition includes an organ reduction for rehearsal purposes.

Borrowing Mussorgsky's 'Promenade' from Pictures at an Exhibition the piece has twowalkers (violas) who take the listener with them onto the Via Della Fortuna then lead them from house to house. Several amber objects were found within the houses linking Pompeii with Lithuania. The lastmovement returns to the House of the Ancient Hunt then heads northwards along the Gintaro Kelias. The jubilant closing music refers to an earlier work (Geda's Weavings) based on Lithuanian folksongs.

This jubilant single-movement setting of the Latin Gloria by celebrated organist Simon Johnson has something for everyone. Scored for SATB choir with Brass Ensemble Organ and Timpani (or Organ alone) the work is highly original and packed with content including recurring rhythmic and melodic motifs harmonic twists a peaceful central section and a four-part fugue.Johnson's Choral writing is clean and concise and more experienced singers will find the vocal lines approachable and enjoyable. The instrumental Ensemble/Organ part is integral to the work featuring short interludes driving rhythms and melodic and textural interest aswell as providing support to the voices where necessary. This exciting work holds its own among more established Gloria settings and will stand the test of time.

Come Ye Thankful People Come is one of best-known songs of Thanksgiving. Charles McCartha has encircled that hymn with his own spirited tune. The piano accompaniment is jubilant and the vocal writing pleasing to sing. A great church anthem for Thanksgiving or any general service of praise. Easy to medium in difficulty.

Par TELEMANN GEORG PHILIPP. This volume represents the only annual cycle of sacred music of the 18th century printed in score: it was completed in 1744. The textual basis stems from Erdmann Neumeister. In contrast to the usual practice of the Telemann Edition to edit segments of the church years, here the entire course of the church year is presented. The music to be performed at the beginning of each part of the church year and at special celebrations is included. Telemann used a variety of expressive polyphonic techniques to create the introductory dicta. These, like the chorales, are written in concentrated three-part harmony. The preface provides information on the printing history of the church year and its dissemination supplemented by comments on performance practice: the critical report analyses the rich source material. Editions of Telemann's preface (with his performance notes and an explanation of his figured bass system), the preface on the printing of the texts and the texts of the compositions contained in the volume flank the edition of the music.
