A delightful lyrical piece by popular composer David Shaffer that works wonderfully in the Build-A-Band format. Playable as long as you have the four main parts covered by the instruments of your choice. Arrangement includes optional parts for piano, timpani, percussion and mallet percussion. Will sound great with bands with extreme instrumentation issues and very small groups. Extremely nice!
About Build-A-Band Series
The Build-A-Band Series provides educational and enjoyable music for bands with incomplete or unbalanced instrumentation. Written using just four or five parts (plus percussion), these effective arrangements will work with any combination of brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments as long as you distribute the parts so that each of the five parts is covered. All of the publications in the Build-A-Band Series have been arranged to be playable with any instrumentation as long as each part is used: 1st Part, 2nd Part, 3rd Part, 4th Part, and Bass Part. (Please note: In some of these arrangements the 4th Part, and the Bass Part are the same, making it possible to play those arrangements with only 4 parts.)

In 2013, the short film “1805: A Town's Tale†was released, produced by Refos Film, with music by Otto M. Schwarz. A fateful autumn day in the year 1805: the morning mists hang heavy over the sprawling field near Dürnstein. The captain's tent and some smaller tents are seemingly lifeless in their deep slumber. In dawn's half-light, the fires now only steam and barely glow. A figure sneaks past the main tent. This is Phillipe, a soldier of Napoleon's troops, leaving the camp early to warn Mina, his lover, and the other inhabitants of the town of Krems of the planned raid ... he Symphonic Suite is a compilation of various main themes from the soundtrack. In addition to this version, there is also a larger edition in which the orchestra can play live to the film with a click track.

This piece depicts the refined beauty of the Grand Canyon at sunrise and sunset. These are the best times to view the Canyon with the sun low in the sky casting shadows that give depth and form to the vast panorama. Angel’s Gate is one of the many named rock formations in the canyon. The composer has tried to depict the sights and sounds of dawn, birdsong in the early morning sky and the gradual revelation of the Canyon itself as sunlight reaches into its rocky depths.Towards the end of the piece, to the sound of a tolling bell, we are however reminded of the dangers that the beauty of the Grand Canyon so cleverly hides.

Lauri Mäntysaari explores the theme nature in Chats before Sunrise (2007, rev. 2022). The atmosphere created in this composition is one of early dawn after a long night spent with good friends (and wine, perhaps), a moment where an unseen element lighter than the air seems to hold the still bubbling conversation in its arms and let us feel relieved. Not only does the word chat mean a light conversation, but also a family of birds which is particularly known for their habit of making clicking sounds. These chats also find their place in the composition.Durat ion: c. 6'Lauri Mäntysaari (b. 1982 Helsinki) is known for his wide variety of composing for different media.
