Kale vi Aho's Concerto for Guitar and Chamber Orchestra (2018) is in seven movements performed without a break and each using the guitar in a different way. The fairly slow introduction-like movement is followed by a virtuosic Allegro molto in which the guitar is also used like a percussion instrument in places as the soloist taps out rhythms on the soundboard. Motifs from the Introduzione reappear in the Interludio, and in the lyrical, singing Andante cantabile that follows. In the Misterioso movement the guitarist plays only flageolet notes. The sixth movement, Presto, is the other virtuoso one in the concerto. The Presto is the concerto's dynamic climax. From then onwards, the music subsides to a slow Epilogue, gradually retreating into silence. Duration: c. 30 minutes. The full score is available for sale (ISMN 9790550117099) and the orchestral material is available for hire from the publisher. The orchestration is 1111-1000-str(43321).

One of the most ambitious of Kalevi Aho's composition projects has been to write a concerto for each of the main instruments in the Romantic symphony orchestra. In 2011, with the Horn Concerto (the eighteenth in the series) this project was approaching its conclusion. In the Horn Concerto the soloist does not stand in front next to the conductor but moves around several times during the course of the work. The horn's first entries are heard from backstage. After that the soloist becomes visible and plays from behind the orchestra, moving gradually from left to right while playing. In the end, the hornist leaves the stage again. This gives the work a ritualistic character - as if the solo horn brings something from afar to the audience and orchestra and, when all is said and done, disappears from view. The concerto contains a number of sections of varying character, slower and faster. The fast sections are rather virtuosic for the orchestra as well. For the tarantella-like passage in the second half of the work, the soloist has moved to a position behind the winds of the orchestra, where an exchange commences with the orchestra's hornist. After that, the soloist moves to the rearmost part of the stage and, by the time of the final notes, is already offstage. The concerto for horn and chamber orchestra can be performed by a group with around twenty performers (1(+picc).1.1(+cl.b).1-10 00-01-str(44331)). The duration is c. 27 minutes.Solo part available for sale (ISMN 9790550117396). Orchestral material available for hire from the publisher. Recording: BIS-2036 SACD / Annu Salminen (horn), Lapland Chamber Orchestra & John Storgards.

For descant recorder, strings and basso continuo. For descant recorder, strings and basso continuo. With these new editions, all six recorder concertos of John Baston are now available, each with score, piano score and parts. The thoroughly edited scores follow essentially the first edition printed by John Walsh in London in 1729. Baston was regarded as an excellent recorder and flute player who worked with London opera orchestras in the early 18th century. His easy concertos anticipating the elegant melody of the early classical period enjoy great popularity representing a rewarding task for music school orchestras and advanced recorder players.

Gius eppe Valentini (1681–1753) was one of the few Italian composers contemporary with Vivaldi who wrote concertos featuring wind instruments. Two oboe concertos by him have been known for a long time. In 2022 Michael Talbot discovered a hitherto unknown third concerto, in G minor. It is preserved anonymously in a Swedish collection, but Valentini’s authorship is evident from the fact that all its movements are skilful adaptations, clearly made by the composer himself, of individual movements from two of his string concertos published in Op. 7 (1710). The concerto is typically Roman in scoring, lacking a viola part, and is equally suitable for performance in ‘chamber’ fashion, with one instrument to a part, or in ‘orchestral, fashion, with doubled string parts. It is highly characterful, with moments of great expressive power, and of only moderate difficulty for the soloist.

Joha nn Friedrich Fasch (1688 - 1758) was a prolific composer who composed a variety of cantatas, concertos, symphonies and other chamber music. Although none of the music was published during his lifetime, much of his instrumental music was later published and is still frequently performed today. The only known composition of his for lute is this Concerto in D Minor in three movements: Allegro moderato, Andante, and Un poco allegro. This edition includes the full orchestral score, orchestral parts, as well as guitar and lute parts. Victor Van Puijenbroeck has adapted the original solo part and included in the set are parts for both lute (the part has been adapted from lute tablature to modern notation) and guitar (capotasto). Instrumentation: Full Score, Guitar (or Lute) - separate parts included for each instrument, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cembalo/Cello/Contrabass.
