Two solos in jazz idiom for pedal or non-pedal harp-Two solos in the jazz idiom for Pedal or Non-Pedal Harp by Stewart Green. Stewart Green began writing music for the Piano at an early age. Taking up the Viola and Oboe in his teens he later went to the University College of North Wales (Bangor) where he studied composition with among others William Matthias and Reginald Smith Brindle. Gaining a B. Mus. (hons) degree in 1960 he returned to his old school in Richester to teach class and instrumental music. Four years later he enlisted as oboist to the Band of HM Coldstream Guards which opened many doors including performances of his compositions and arrangements in many National venues on discand broadcast by the BBC on Radios 2 & 3. His years at Bangor had enabled him to fulfil a childhood dream of learning the Harp which he was later able to develop when he left the army and moved with his wife Sue and young family to Lowestoft as a peripatetic woodwind tutor for Suffolk County Music Service. His Flights Of Fancy and Blistering Along! appear on ABRSM and Trinity College Harp examination syllabuses while the Spartan Press publication Saxofun is on Suffolk's own exam syllabus. Since 1999 Stewart has been senior Woodwind Tutor for Suffolk and since 2002 Harp tutor as well! Stewart's recent publication She'll Be Comin' Round The Mountain was written for the North Suffolk String Orchestra as was Haunted House. Spookily this received its first performance at Lowestoft accompanied by a July Thunderstorm!

Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) studied at the Paris Conservatoire before embarking upon a successful composing career. The composer wrote for a variety of instrumentations and his works remain popular to this day Six Pieces for Harp being no exception. Composed in 1916-1917 Six Pieces for solo Harp is suitable for advanced level harpists. Ibert was a unique composer who did not associate himself with any particular style. His music is generally lighthearted often reflecting the composer's wit and humour. The second movement of Six Pieces Scherzetto reflects the composer's humoresqueand quirky nature. Containing a variety of musical aspects and techniques Ibert's Scherzetto from Six Pieces is an exciting addition to the advanced level Harp repertoire.

Yiruma is a popular pianist and composer from South Korea. This beautiful Piano composition was originally released on his 2001 album entitled ?First Love ? and has become an international hit. This sheet music includes two solo Harp arrangements by Sylvia Woods. The first is in the key of G and can be played on a Pedal Harp or a Lever Harp with 2 octaves below middle C. The arrangement in the key of C can be played on various size Harps.

The title refers to the poetic stanzas but also to invisible spaces to be inhabited with the mind. One day my friend Cecilia Chailly calls me and asks me if I have a harp piece for her to play. I give her Vega to try. Two days later I go to her house to listen and, with mutual enthusiasm, I give her all the pieces that we will soon be recording. A majestic and lively Suite For Harp by Suffolk's greatest composer. The first performance was given by Osian Ellis who the work is dedicated to at the Aldeburgh Festival in June 1969.

Composed for Pedal Harp  Vers La Source Dans Le Bois is a piece for advanced players composed by Marcel Tournier. Including some pedal changes the piece starts played by the right hand interpreting the water coming from the fountain with really fast notes giving a feeling of an enchanted world. The left hand completes this part with natural harmonies and the piece then follows with glissandi before coming back to the initial theme. This melodious piece is really gracious and will be nice to play and to listen to. Marcel Tournier (1879-1951) was a French harpist composer and professor whowrote many pieces that are now part of the repertoire and that extended the technical capacities of this instrument.
