Daniel, I am so grateful for your wonderful comments about this sonatina. They are so encouraging and insightful. I think you have found things in the music that I did not even know were there. Many many thanks for such a careful reading.
The first movement is really something else. I did not reach the other two yet but it is truly one of the saddest (if not THE saddest) 1st movements and thus sonatinas I've listened from you.
The second movement does not really improve the mood! It feels more nostalgic and less depressive but still sad.
The third movement does its job complete that well built gradient going from pure melancholy to reflexive nostalgia.
Congratulations. You know I often give 4-5 starts to all your works (they deserve it, no doubts), but I would give a sixth star here if I could; apart from a very good interpretation and composition, the feelings it transmitted and flowed from one movement to another give this sonatina 48 a special place in my mind.
