In Vienna in June 20, 1783 the opera ‚Il curioso
indiscreto‘ by the Italian composer Pasquale Anfossi
(1727 – 1797) was performed. For this performance
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed 3 additional arias,
among them ‘Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio” (I’d like
to explain, oh god) KV 418 for the soprano Aloisia
Lange. Unfortunately since 1945 the autograph of this
aria is missing, only the piano reduction is preserved,
which was used for our arrangement for 2 clarinets in A
and 3 basset horns...(+)
