A major and minor in the first week and ending with G

menuets of TWV 34 were published in a score with a
figured bass, and were intended to be performed either
on a "Clavier" (i.e. a keyboard instrument) alone
(solo) or on a melodic instrument with (basso) continuo
(Bc) accompaniment.
The realization of the figured bass is merely a
suggestion as a basis for an improvised performance.
The bass line may be played (along) on a cello, gamba,
bassoon or bass recorder.
