Home Zoo is a private zoo owned by Kittipong Jaruthanin, located in his house in Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. The zoo has collected various kind of exotic animals.
This Symphony was inspired from the animal activities and joyful of visiting the zoo. Although the piece was considered short compared to the other great previous Symphony, the piece is full of details and decorations. The piece is composed of a single movement under flexible Sonata form with various section. This was originally inspired from Schubert’s Fantasy in C major (Wanderer) and Liszt’s Sonata in b minor due to these were pieces composed a single movement for entired Sonata form. The piece last about 8 minutes.
Symphony for Home Zoo has 2 arrangements. One for orchestra and one for piano transcription. Piano Transcription version was first performed and recorded by Krit Niramittham in August 2022.
