The association with the Canon in D by Pachelbel is
obvious but this is not a canon, it's a set of new
variations on the same chord-scheme as Pachelbels
canon. This scheme is not a creation by Pachelbel, it
was an existing combination of chords like many others,
in fact part of the music-theory at that time.
