Arlesienne by revealing beautiful and rich harmonics is
not, as is commonly believed, an old Provencal
Christmas, but a nice air of triumphant march composed
by Lulli in honor of the great general of Louis XIV,
Turenne. It has long been popular throughout France, in
recent times, only Provence had preserved the memory.
