In this sixth book of the series, the authors builld upon the lower junior stage, and use a similar modular format. Designed to extend skill acquisition in performance, improvising and composing, listening and appraising, and notating music, pupils are challenged by incresingly demanding musical materials. At the same time there is an emphasis on pupils acquiring knowledge and expertise of the deep structures of a range of music, and a greater acknowledgement of musical purpose and context. Attuned to the National Curriculum experiences, particular features of this book are: a consolidation and deepening of vocal and instrumental techniques and performance * an integrated approach to improvising and composing, combing skills in listening and appraising, knowledge and understanding * a module focusing on aural observation, representation, recording and notation of sound * an active, analytical and frequently physical approach to listening and appraising * a focus on music in its social and historical context in relation to dance.

L'Ull de vent [Wind's eye] is a four- hand piano work for students who want to begin with that type of piano playing. It was composed and dedicated to two of my students, Andrea and Nuria, who premiered the work at Bisbal del Penedes School of Music during their elementary studies. The name of the work refers to public primary school of the town; a modernist singular building built by the architect Antoni Pons Dominguez. The wind's eye is a place, where possibly go all the winds of the lower Penedes region. The pieces have a progressive difficulty, where student can work the basic aspects of four-hand piano playing, in complement with particular piano study. Finally, what really I looked for, besides that students loved more music and piano, is that through its effort they can be able to listen what music dictates to their imagination.

Jenkyns< /em>' songs for young singers can best be described as art songs for the youngest singers. Their ranges and technical requirements are just right for the younger age groups and their lyrics - as in The Snowman - are perfectly gauged for their performers.
Peter Jenkyns was a 20th century British composer, singer and educator who wrote a series of songs for primary-aged children, sensitively arranged and with appropriate lyrics. Jenkyns was the headmaster of two primary schools outside of London for whose choirs he composed songs for the St Albans' Schools Music Festival. He was also a highly-regarded Gilbert andSullivan patter-song singer and he founded a local Gilbert & Sullivan society which is still thriving.
