These performances were recorded during the 1930s and 1940s by some of the prominent artists of the time: Enrico Caruso, Tito Schipa, Giacomo Lauri Volpi, Beniamino Gigli, Aureliano Pertile, Hipolito Lazaro, Francesco Merli, Jussi Björling, Renato Zanelli.
