?On Christmas night all Christians sing? are the opening words of the Sussex Carol, a traditional English tune with words first published in 1684. English folk-song collectors Cecil Sharp and Ralph Vaughan Williams both collected versions of the song, and Vaughan Williams published his arrangement of the tune in 1919.
?On Christmas day in the morning? are the concluding words of the refrain of the carol also known as ?I Saw Three Ships.? Like the Sussex Carol, it is a traditional English carol, and it was published by William Sandys in his 1833 work, Christmas Carols Ancient and Modern.
?Rejoice? is the imperative verb in the invitation, ?Good Christian men, rejoice,? which are the opening words to the medieval carol, ?In dulci jubilo? (?In sweet rejoicing?). John Mason Neale, an Anglican priest, scholar, and hymn-writer, wrote the familiar English translation in 1853.
Quick to rehearse and fun to play, this cheerful medley evokes the joy of Christmas. Intrmediate level, suitablefor high school to professional ensembles for use in concert, recital, and worship. Full score and parts, 8.5x11-inch format.

Composed by Swedish folk tune. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Christian, Gospel, Sacred. Score, Set of Parts. 13 pages. Published by Con Spirito Music (S0.181021). - Score,Set of Parts - Christian,Gospel,Sacred - Con Spirito Music One of the best-loved gospel songs worldwide, ?How Great Thou Art? began as a nine-stanza hymn of praise, ?O Store Gud? (?O Great God?), written in 1885 by Swedish poet and lay minister Carl Gustav Boberg (1859?1940). In 1891 Boberg published the poem, accompanied by a Swedish folk melody, in Sanningsvittnet (Witness for the Truth), a weekly Christian journal of which he was editor. Today, the tune is commonly named ?Sanningsvittnet? in hymnals.
From its Swedish origins, the text was translated to German in 1907, then to Russian in 1912. The Russian text became the basis for a translation to English by Stuart W. K. Hine (1899?1989), a British Methodist missionary who discovered it in 1931 while on mission in the Ukraine. Hine's work commonly contains four verses: the first two being a relatively close translation of stanzas by Boberg, and the latter two being original verses by Hine. Published in 1949, ?How Great Thou Art? gained great popularity in North America after George Beverly Shea began singing it in the Billy Graham evangelistic crusades in 1955. It has been named the #1 favorite hymn by respondents to various polls in both the United States and United Kingdom.

Published by Con Spirito Music (S0.180677). - Score,Set of Parts - Christian,Gospel,Sacred,Folk,Americana - Con Spirito Music ?An American Folk Hymn Medley? brings together three 19th-century shape-note tunes in a contemporary setting for brass quintet.
HOLY MANNA is popularly known as ?Brethren We Have Met to Worship? from its association with a text by Methodist clergyman George Atkins (1793-1827). It was first published in Columbian Harmony, a shape-note tune book, in 1829, and is attributed to William Moore, the publisher.
RESTORATION, first published in William Walker?s 1835 shape-note hymnal, Southern Harmony, was later renamed ARISE from its association with a text by Joseph Hart (1712-1768) in which the chorus begins ?I will arise and go to Jesus?.?
PLEADING SAVIOR, published in Joshua Leavitt?s 1830 compilation The Christian Lyre, is today best-known in many churches as the accompaniment to the text ?Sing of Mary, Pure and Lowly.?
In this arrangement, the similar tunes HOLY MANNA and PLEADING SAVIOR, both in major tonality and 8.7.8.7 poetic meter, frame the contrasting minor tonality tune, RESTORATION. Contrasting instrument textures, keys, and tempi, and a mix of both traditional and contemporary harmonies breathe a fresh spirit into these venerable tunes. Originally written for SATB choir and orchestra, I have arranged it for symphonic brass quintet of 2 trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba.
(If your trombonist can play euphonium, I think it would sound better!)
It contains snippets of many Christmas Carols, cleverly interwoven together. It suits the brass quintet. (Also available for brass band (treble clef) quintet.
Contains the following carols:
Good Christian Men Rejoice
God Rest You Merry Gentlemen
Come Ye Lofty, Come Ye Lowly
The First Nowell

Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138522). This easy arrangement for brass quintet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand, adapted for various levels of musical knowledge; from beginners to music professionals. It can be played freely due to the ease built into the piece in relation to the author's suggested interpretation. Recommended for performances at Christian ceremonies and liturgical events in churches, it also serves as a study of the Renaissance repertoire. A Mighty Fortress Is Our God or Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism; where it is also known as Deus noster refugium et virtus. Considered one of the most important hymns in the history of Christianity, it was considered by the Christian poet Johann Heirich Heine (1797-1856) to be the Marseillaise of the Reformation, in an allusion to the French national anthem. Score and parts. 16 pages. Con Spirito Music #747929. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1147711). “The Huron Carol” is the popular name for a Christmas song written in the language of the Wendat, an indigenous people of Canada — their name meaning “people of the island” or “dwellers on a peninsula” — nicknamed “Huron” (“boar's head”) by French explorers and traders due to the bristly hairstyle of Wendat men.The song began as a tool for teaching and converting the Wendat to Christianity, and it was likely written in the early 1640s by the French Jesuit missionary, Jean de Brébeuf. In Wendat, the song is titled “Jesous Ahatonnia,” which means “Jesus is Born.” The song's melody is based on a traditional French folk song, “Une Jeune Pucelle” (“A Young Maid”). Jean de Brébeuf’s lyrics present the Nativity story using images and ideas that would have been familiar to the Wendat. Angels are “spirits” and “sky people”; the Magi (wise men) are “elders,” and as an act of reverence they oil Jesus’ scalp, a practice Wendat people would have recognized. Today, “The Huron Carol's” most well-known lyrics, beginning “'Twas in the moon of winter-time,” were written by Canadian poet Jesse Middleton and published in 1927 in a small illustrated book titled “The First Canadian Christmas Carol.”Middleton’s text is not a translation, but a complete rewriting of “Jesous Ahatonnia” for English speakers, and bears almost no relation to the original Wendat text. Middleton relied on stereotypes, critics say, painting a picture of an indigenous Nativity in a “lodge of broken bark,” with “hunter braves” replacing shepherds, and “gifts of fur and beaver pelt” delivered by “chiefs from far.” Still, the carol has long been popular, perhaps in part due to its refrain, “Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born. In excelsis gloria!” and its pairing with the easily singable “Une Jeune Pucelle” tune. This arrangement for brass quintet takes a contemplative, lyrical approach, featuring rich harmonies to the chant-like tune and contrasts in dynamics and tempo that evoke both the quiet peace and solemnity accompanying the birth of Christ.©Copyright 2022 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP).
