Cantate Domino (Psalm 96:1 3). This piece was originally written for male choir (BA 7416).By adding women’s voices the version for mixed choir presents a further dimension of colour. This version also makes it possible to divide the choir into two groups one for women and another for men and to have them sing either together or as separate units.This version for mixed choir (BA 7414) was premiered in Uppsala Cathedral (Sweden) on 26 October 2013 with the Uppsala Cathedral Singers conducted by Ulric Andersson.

Blake Wilson's Ave Maris Stella focuses on the idea of Mary as a source of strength and power. Melodically rich with earthy harmonies and diverse texture this is a very impressive setting of the well known Latin text. An excellent choice for high-level high school choirs and above.

The music and texts link to form a narrative that questions what sort of ?New Worlds? have come into existence or could be created in our future and considers how we balance human traits of fear displacement isolation and conflict with equally human traits of love hope forgiveness and unity.
