Buzzard Banjo - Clawhammer Style. Provides the intermediate clawhammer (5-string) banjo player with a fresh repertoire of 21 traditional and 5 original tunes as played by the author with the Boiled Buzzards Old Time String Band. The book briefly addresses clawhammer basics with a few pages of exercises and scales before presenting the tunes. The banjo tunings in this book are: double C tuning (gCGCD), modified double C tuning (eCGCD), G tuning (GDGBD), A tuning (aEAC#E), D tuning (aDADE), and Double-D tuning drop 5th (f#DADE). Written in banjo tablature only with suggested backup chords. Il propose l'étude de dix morceaux instrumentaux, écrits dans des genres musicaux variés : blues, ragtime, bluegrass, ballade, country-waltz... Ces dix morceaux sont extraits de deux CD Country Picking in Nashville - Vol.1 et Vol.2, tous deux enregistrés avec les plus grands musiciens de Nashville. Pour chaque titre, ce recueil propose la partition et la tablature ainsi qu'une analyse détaillée du morceau avec exemples commentés et exercices progressifs sur les différentes techniques du Finger Picking : basses alternées, basses étouffées, pulling-off, hammering-on, doigt en pivot, slide, blocking, harmoniques, roll... Le CD contient d'abord les dix morceaux enregistrés (index 1 à 10), puis les exercices correspondants à chaque titre (index 11 à 26). Chaque exercice est proposé trois fois au ralenti, puis trois fois à vitesse réelle. Ainsi le guitariste peut s'entraîner progressivement à l'exécution des différentes techniques et des passages délicats avant d'entamer l'étude du morceau. The amount of folk music in America is staggering. The nineteenth century gave birth to many unique American styles and its songs are an important part of our musicalheritage. Even today quite a few of the tunes in this collection will seem very familiar. Written primarily in standard notation the exceptions being those tunes in altered tunings which logically appear in tablature only.
