Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) was a pianist and composer of international stature and one of the towering figures of early 20th century music. Alexandre Rachmaninoff (1933-2012), the composer's grandson, has been retained as a special advisor. The musical spectrum ranges from the naive-witty Kinderlieder op. 152 to the highly dramatic setting of Des Madchens Klage op. 57,7 from Schiller's Wallenstein.
