This piece, as the title might suggest, brings together Verdi’s greatest operatic triumphs. Amongst his best hits are Nabucco from 1842, which signified a turn-around after the flop of a previous opera, as well as Rigoletto, which in 1851 propelled him to international fame. Verdi’s Triumphs features: Triumphmarch and Su! Del nilo al sacro lido from Aida, the Prisoners’ Freedom Choir from Nabucco and La donna è mobile from Rigoletto.Zoals de titel al doet vermoeden, brengt dit werk de grootste triomfen van Verdi samen. Named after a popular Latin dance club in New York City that recently closed, this authentic salsa original is a showstopper in every way! After opening with a dynamic tutti unison, it features two Latin styles, songo and samba. Songo rhythms are most commonly heard in salsa music and employ lots of syncopation supported by a repetitious, but always moving rhythm section background. L’effet de double chœur ainsi créé donne la pièce un caractère varié et divertissant. Fantasia di Pasqua, basata su melodie tradizionali, utilizza un quartetto, che riveste un ruolo fondamentale nello sviluppo del brano. Sono possibili varie combinazioni, come ad esempio un quartetto di ottoni e/o legni, come anche un coro di tromboni). Fantasia di Pasqua è scritta in uno stile simile alla musica rinascimentale, una scelta che si spiega con il fatto che la maggior parte delle melodie corali datano di questo periodo. Queste melodie danzanti, interpretate dal quartetto, segnano la trama del brano. La bellezza del doppio coro conferisce al brano un carattere variegato e divertente.

As the title suggests, this opening work consists of a fanfare and a hymn. This work was written for the opening ceremony of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf (Allgäu, Germany) and can be played in four different versions depending on your needs or the players available. You can use a complete version, a short fanfare played just by trumpets (cornets), trombones and timpani, a double fanfare (extended with tutti-band) or a fanfare version followed by the hymn. Nordic Fanfare and Hymn is an extremely practical and versatile ceremonial opening piece.Zoals de titel aangeeft, bestaat dit openingswerk uit een fanfare en een hymne. Het werd geschreven voor de openingsceremonie van de FIS Nordische wereldkampioenschappen skiën in Oberstdorf (Allgäu, Duitsland). Het werk kan in vierverschillende versies worden gespeeld. Er is een volledige versie.
