Commissioned for Music Jubilee 2000 an annual Methodistconference in Pennsylvania this work was written for a mass choir of 2000 singers but is easily accessible to church choirs much smaller than that! Joseph Martin has masterfully woven together three beloved gospel hymns tocreate an exciting montage of joyful praise. Wonderful orchestration by Brant Adams adds power and might to this dynamic new medley. We Have Heard the Joyful Sounds is filled with energy and contagious excitement!

This anthem was written in 1976 for Martin Neary and the Winchester Cathedral Choir. A G major chord sounding through most of the anthem depicts the joyful love and irrepressible faith of a soul that clings to its Lord despite its suffering and anguish.
