Sonatine - Movement 1

Le premier mouvement de la Sonatine pour piano de Maurice Ravel vit probablement le jour en 1903. Ce qui est sûr, c\'est que le compositeur le joua le 8 janvier 1904 lors d\'une soirée au salon de Marguerite de Saint-Marceaux. On ne sait par contre pas exactement quand il composa les deux autres mouvements. Si l\'oeuvre fut très favorablement accueillie lors de sa création à Lyon en 1906, le public parisien lui réserva quant à lui un accueil plutôt réservé. Ravel lui-même semble avoir eu la Sonatine en grande estime, car il inscrivit régulièrement au répertoire de ses récitals cette oeuvre d\'une grande clarté, d\'une facture presque \'classique\'. / Piano Solo / 27 pages / Partition

Par HAHN. Composed by Reynaldo Hahn, Sonatine En Ut Majeur (1907) is a piece for Piano for intermediate players. This really melodious piece is divided in three main movements. 1. Allegro Moderato in C The main theme starts the piece with an accent on the tonic arpeggio. Counterpoint principle is also used thanks to a canon in two measures. 2. Andantino Rubato in G Written in the form ABA, this movement is then continued by four variations of the theme. 3. Final in G The piece ends on a coda with harmonious arpeggios, played after a ternary dance. Reynaldo Hahn was a naturalised French composer, conductor, theatre director and singer. Best known as a composer of songs, he also wrote many pieces and melodies for different instruments./ Répertoire / Piano

Par REINECKE CARL HEINRICH CARSTEN. Carl Reinecke (1824-1910) was a highly respected German pianist, composer, and conductor. During his lifetime, he was known as the standard-setting performer of Mozart's Piano works, and was also the earliest-born pianist to be recorded in any format, having made recordings in 1904 at the age of 80. His 6 Miniatur-Sonatinen (6 Miniature Sonatinas, Op. 136) were written in 1875. They form a collection of 6 exquisitely charming little pieces for solo Piano, each comprising three or four movements. Any movement would make a suitable first performance piece for the beginner-intermediate pianist, while each complete Sonatina could bethe perfect piece for a junior recital. Par TOMASI HENRI. French composer and conductor, Henri Tomasi (1901-1971) published Sonatine for solo Flute in 1949. As with his other wind compositions, Sonatine was well-received by audiences. Tomasi was born in Marseille, but his Father and Mother were originally from La Casinca in Corsica. Despite being pressured into musical studies by his parents, Tomasi dreamed of becoming a sailor, and during the summer, he stayed with his Grandmother in Corsica where he learnt traditional Corsican songs. However, in 1921, he began his studies at the Paris Conservatoire and went on to become a high profilecomposer and conductor. Tomasi did not forget his Corsican routes, often incorporating themes of the songs he had learnt during the summers with his Grandmother in to his compositions. Sonatine for solo Flute is a highly unusual, complex and modern work in three movements; 1) Prelude and Scherzo, 2) Pastorale, and 3) Finale.
