L?Américain Richard Charles Rodgers (1902-1979) fur l?un des plus éminents compositeurs de comédies musicales. Il noua une fructueuse première collaboration avec le parolier Lorenz Hart avec qui il composa de nombreuses comédies musicales et chansons à succès. Lorenz Hart mourut en 1943 et Richard Rodgers s?associa alors avec Oscar Hammerstein.
