Commissioned by Gareth Malone for Series Four of BBC TV's 'The Choir' and first performed by Malone and the Military Wives' choir as part of The Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on 12th November 2011 in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen. A favourite for the 2011 Christmas Number One, with support from radio DJ Chris Evans who has suggested every choir in the country should sing this song, it's and nbsp - the biggest threat to X-Factor chart domination this year. The text is taken from poems, letters and prayers written by the Military Wives, selected and adapted by Paul Mealor, and a passage from the Book of John: Wherever you are, my love will keep you safe - My heart will build a bridge of light, across both time and space. Paul Mealor’s Celtic Prayers was commissioned by the BBC for the BBC National Orchestraof Wales to celebrate St David’s Day 1st March 2014. The premiere took place on that date at St. David’s Hall Cardiff at a gala concert with the participation of the BBC National Chorus of Wales as well as massed youth choirs conducted by Grant Llewellyn.

A Welsh Prayer is a setting of a poem by Grahame Davis for SATB Choir and two Harps composed by Paul Mealor. A Welsh Prayer was commissioned by Holywell Music and the North Wales International Music Festival as a gift to celebrate the 65th birthday of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.The piece was premiered by the Aberdeen University Chamber Choir with harpists Hannah Stone and Catrin Finch conducted by the composer on 22 September 2013 at St Asaph’s Cathedral as part of the North Wales International Music Festival.Vocal Score available: NOV294329 and Parts: NOV294250

Salvator Mundi: Greater Love was commissioned by the Swansea Festival and premiered by Côrdydd conducted by Sioned James at St Mary’s Church Chepstow on 9 October 2011. It combines two sacred texts: the Latin prayer ‘Salvator mundi’ (Saviour of the world) and verses from the Gospel of St John (15:12&13).
