This cantata is the outcome of a request and is an easy arrangement of movements of Messiah for use in school near to Christmas. The movements selected are all taken from Part One of Messiah but the order has been slightly changed to group them as a cantata. Arranged for Two-Part Chorus by Watkins Shaw. Duration c. 20 mins

A popular aria for Soprano from Handel's celebrated Messiah edited by Watkins Shaw. This particular edition is presented in 12/8 time rather than the more familiar 4/4 version but with the Continuo line provided in the original simple time. The piece features the intimate arrangement of two Violins and Continuo with the Soprano soloist and the music is brimming with Handel's delightful imitative melodic writing creating an energetic dialogue between the soloist and the strings.
