This is the Full Orchestra Score composed in 1793 as the first of six symphonies written for Haydn’s second visit to England. It is a typically impressive symphony four movements full of musicality and excitement despite its characteristic slow opening. This piece is warm and expressive with a melancholy Adagio which seems to reflect the death of one of Haydn’s close friend earlier that year.
