Bruckner described his setting of Psalm 150 (1892) as “my best festive cantata of all”. With its monumental Halleluja theme and the great fugue on “Alles, was Odem hat, lobe den Herrn”, the psalm setting has a pronounced festive character. For this edition, Marius Popp has transcribed the orchestral writing for organ. Originally scored for large orchestra and large choir, this festive cantata can now also be performed by smaller choral forces in a sacred space. The fascinating combination of filigree motifs, powerful passages and chromatically bold complexities are expressed in a completely new way in this arrangement. An exciting setting of one of the most popular psalms for more experienced choirs to perform in festive church services or concerts. The vocal and choral scores from the original version (also available as Carus 27.410/00) can be used with the organ version.. Score available separately - see item CA.2741000.

The original occasion for the composition of Cantata BWV 51 is not known. The unusual festive scoring with trumpet and solo soprano, and the virtuoso demands of these parts seem to indicate a special occasion, such as New Year, a town council election or the birthday of a prominent person. Bach only added the liturgical designation of the 15th Sunday after Trinity to the titlepage of his score later. The text is directed to the praise of God and thanks for the goodness he has shown, combined with a plea for support in the future. The chorale verse Sei Lob und Preis mit Ehren is not a typically straightforward four-part setting, but is incorporated into an instrumental trio movement. Together with the following Alleluja, it forms a brilliant concertante conclusion to the work. New, revised edition. Score available separately - see item CA.3105100.

Classic hymn Joel Raney pairs the text of this profound hymn with his own original melody and additional words to capture the power and glory of God's grace. The essential elements of this stately anthem call for SATB choir and piano accompaniment, but the addition of organ, handbells, 3 trumpets and percussion makes this an ideal selection for any festive service of praise. The appearance of the hymn tune, CWM RHONDDA, pulls everything together along with the deeply felt refrain: Grant us hearts and hands for service, Lord. On your people pour your holy power! The Instrumental Parts contain a Conductor's Score and parts for Organ, 3-5 octave Handbells, 3 Trumpets in B-flat, and Percussion (Timpani, Suspended Cymbal & Windchimes).

The expression of the exalted character of this official work is imparted through Handel's express use of timpani and trumpets. Gentler and more serious movements effectively complement the work. The basis for the present critical edition of this work is the London autograph, which has survived and from which Handel probably conducted the first performance. In addition, the initial concluding version of the chorus Make them to be number'd has been published in this edition. In this version Handel strived for a more compact and stricter voice leading.
