23 Pieces From 6 Centuries. The Easy Concert Pieces series for alto saxophone and piano provide easy to intermediate pieces from the Renaissance to the modern era for music lessons, concert performances or private music-making. The volumes with accompanying CD add to the not very extensive repertoire of performance pieces for saxophone. They were carefully selected according to technical and musical requirements and are arranged in three volumes according to their level of difficulty. All pieces are included on the accompanying CD as demo and play-along versions (piano accompaniment). The piano part contained in the volume is very easy so that it can even be played by a pupil, e.g. at a music school concert. Volume 1 (ED 22553) contains easy pieces which mainly range from d' to c''', occasionally even to d'''. The keys range from C to D major or the respective minor keys. This volume contains works by Charpentier, Vivaldi, Handel, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Smetana, Pütz, Moser, and others. Volume 2 (ED 22554) contains intermediate pieces ranging from c' to e''', with unusual metres and demisemiquavers appearing occasionally. Including works by Wolkenstein, Peuerl, Schein, Purcell, Telemann, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Gounod, Humperdinck, Elgar, and others. 50 Easy Pieces from 5 Centuries. Par . For the Easy Concert Pieces series, the experienced piano teacher Monika Twelsiek compiled pleasant, easy piano pieces for beginners and published them in three volumes in progressive order. The three volumes are intended to complement a piano tutorial method and are particularly suitable for performance at auditions at music schools, for examinations and for competitions. They offer varied repertoire in a broad selection of pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. Volume 1 (ED 22547) can already be used by beginners, containing pieces in the five-note range and easy pieces spanning a single octave. Other criteria for selection are simple rhythms and very easy chords. Crossing the thumb underneath, playing several parts together and pedal use are not yet required. Volume 2 (ED 22548) contains pieces with an extended range of two octaves. Crossing the thumb under, pedal use, simple polyphony and three- or four-part chords all feature here, as do simple ornaments, cantabile playing and differentiating between melody and accompaniment. Volume 3 (ED 22549) is aimed at advanced players who wish to refine their expression and personal interpretation. Par JORGENSEN AXEL. Axel Jørgensen was the solo viola in The Royal Danish Orchestra, and as a composer he had a large output, especially for brass. His Romance for trombone and orchestra is one of his most performed pieces, and was first performed by Anton Hansen, the famous teacher. Bach: Complete Organ Works Vol. 5 Sonatas / Trios / Concertos - ed. by Pieter Dirksen Organ Works Based on Compositions by Bach and Others Genres such as sonata, trio and concerto were initially uncommon in the keyboard music of the early 18th century. Thus it comes as no surprise that many of the pieces in this volume are arrangements by Bach of original compositions and of works by other composers. Next to the Sonatas BWV 525?530 and the Concertos or concerto movements based on pieces by other composers BWV 592?596, the volume also contains the Trio in D minor BWV 583, the Trio settings BWV 585?587 as well as the early versions of BWV 527 and 528. Moreover, the CD-ROM offers eight arrangements of trio movements by Bach made by others. In his detailed introduction, Pieter Dirksen discusses various aspects of these pieces' origins, inasmuch as they help us better understand the works. The organist will especially welcome the comments on performance practice and registration. It is precisely the fact that these works derive from chamber-music models that leads to individual considerations for each work group.
