In the National Museum of Prague a manuscript is
preserved (Sig.XLII A 90), containing 7 arrangements of
an unknown arranger of songs and opera arias for a
quartet of clarinet and 3 basset horns. The manuscript
was belonging to the music collection of count
Christian Philipp Clam-Gallas (1748 – 1805), who
maintained his own orchestra in Prague. The manuscript
contains songs by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 –
1791), Franz Anton Hoffmeister (1754 – 1812) and some
arias from the opera ‘Der ...(+)

arias from the opera ‘Der Spiegel von Arkadien’ by
Franz Xaver Süßmayr (1766 – 1813). We have
identified the origins of the pieces and the composer
Otmar Mayer has completed lacking sections of the third
basset horn part.
