Elle s'en allait pour la Noël
Chez sa petite mère, fidèle,
Pour fêter la nativité
Comme elle faisait chaque année.

Toujours le même scénario
Depuis des temps immémoriaux
Qui revenait, à chaque fois,
Trop de cadeaux, un lourd repas.

Les escargots aillés pur beurre
Qui lui donnaient des hauts le coeur
Et les disputes enragées
Entre la bûche et le pâté.

Mais elle savait que, fugace,
Brillerait un instant de grâce,
Précieux et chargé de ferveur,
Un petit morceau de bonheur.

Elle s'en allait pour la Noël
Chez sa petite mère, fidèle,
