I was born and raised in Illinois, USA. I received music training on cornet in public schools in Granite City, Illinois under the tutelage of Ms. Elsie Maylath. I was awarded several First and First Superior medals in state competitions both as a soloist and in ensembles. Since giving that up in high school, I have been a mostly self-taught musician playing guitar, bass, drums, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone, piano, organ, recorder, and shakuhachi.
