My violin teacher taught me this traditional Scottish
tune, and this is an arrangement I originally made for
my schools string ensemble. This is the first song I've
put on free-scores.
thank you very much... I did this simple arrangement for my school's string ensemble, and the level of ability of most players in the group was (and still is), well, let's just say very undesirable. But they were all easily able to play this :) If I was to revise it I would add a more complex part at the beginning for the accompanying parts, but as it is Scottish folk music feel free to play with all kinds of different rhythms!
Welcome to Free-scores! Although you don't have an audio file, and I can't listen to the MIDI because Quick-time player isn't working correctly, I glanced over this, and it looks good! Although it seems to start out slow, you start to move into some more complex harmonies towards the end. A very good arrangement for intermediate students. Keep it up!
Liam, how wonderful! I just downloaded your arrangement and love it. It is awesome! I am an orchestra teacher in the Norristown, PA (near Philadelphia) school district and am going to try it with my students! All the best of music making! Greeting from Norristown, PA - USA
