The 1st section of this solo guitar piece is in the key of A minor, note that the 'g' note is raised by a semi-tone to a 'g#' - this is indicative of the A harmonic minor scale. This free sheet music for guitar is good for practice of arpeggios in the open position. There is a modulation into the key of C major in the 2nd section. The time signature is 2/4 and the tempo is Andantino. This piece is suitable for a beginner guitarist.

The Italian Mauro Giuliani (17811829) was an accomplished guitarist, cellist, singer, and composer. His first instrument was the cello which he continued to play throughout his life, however after devoting himself to the guitar he rapidly progressed and became a skilled performer. In 1806 Giuliani moved to the capital city of Austria, Vienna where he began publishing compositions in the classical style in 1807. He achieved much success touring throughout Europe and his virtuosity and musical taste made him into a musical celebrity. He later returned to Italy where he ultimately found a modicum of success in Naples. He often appeared in duo concert with his daughter Emilia who was also a gifted guitarist.
