This is a piano solo based on the original melody I
wrote for Tolkien's poem "Over the Misty Mountains
Cold". Parts of it are in a folk style, while nearer
the end of the piece it shows definite signs of being
20th century (no, it is NOT atonal!). While it's been
written as a piano solo, it also sounds good with
vocals accompanying, so I have left the words in.
This is more difficult than my other postings; probably
grade 9 - 10. My performance is a little hesitant, but
I hope it will ...(+)

This is more difficult than my other postings; probably
grade 9 - 10. My performance is a little hesitant, but
I hope it will provide some guidance in terms of
interpretation, as the music is a little sparsely
notated at the moment. I hope to replace this with a
more secure performance soon (one of the things I found
when writing music - I still have to learn the piece
afterwards!).
Ah, yes.....the sound gets a little muffled at the very
end. That's because my cat came and sat on the
microphone!
