Description Released in commemoration of Samuel Barber's 100th birth anniversary, this new edition of previously unpublished Piano works by the American master comprises pieces composed between the ages of 7 and 21. Based on manuscripts found in the Library of Congress, the book includes extensive commentary on each piece that shows a precocious and skilled talent developing into one of America's greatest composers. All pieces are first published editions except Three Sketches , published privately in 1924, and Interlude I . Selected manuscript facsimiles of childhood compositions are also included.
