25 easy pieces from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic eras, playable in the first three finger patterns in the first position, for violin pupils from the second year of learning. Apart from lesser known works, this edition also contains many popular pieces, such as themes from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Handel's Fireworks Music and Water Music, Mozart's Magic Flute or Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. This volume's intention is to grant access to classical masterpieces of concert literature with the help of such easy arrangements and spread the joy of classical music. The approach to the pieces is made easier by the accompanying CD which, on the one hand, offers the opportunity to listen to and get to know the pieces beforehand, and, on the other hand, thanks to the separate piano accompaniments, provides first experience in ensemble playing and conveys the vivid joy of music-making.When the CD was recorded by Prof. Benjamin Bergmann, violin, and Leonid Dorfman, piano, they deliberately decided in favour of moderate tempos to make it easier for the young violinists to play along with the piano part. A treasure trove for auditions at schools and music schools.

The most important aspect of the violin method 'Die frohliche Violine' is the fun of learning to play the violin: The textbook is aimed at an early playful beginning with the instrument. Over the course of the lessons, the pupils are deliberately addressed in a language that corresponds to their age. Furthermore, the method provides a stylistically varied range of classical and folkloristic instrumental pieces, and always gives a lot of interesting information on the music and its composers.Vol. 1: Detailed introduction to the bow hold - songs and instrumental pieces, using exclusively the first type of fingering while focussing on rhythmic, melodic and technical variety - playful touching and feeling of violin-playing techniques such as pizzicato, position playing, harmonics and double stops. Vol. 1 is accompanied by a CD (T 3272) containing all songs and pieces with funny dialogues spoken by children. A motivating addition to violin lessons and a great gift idea!

Bohuslav Martin (1890-1959) was a prolific Czech composer, writing many large scale works. The composer moved to Paris in 1923 where he began experimenting in a variety of composition styles. Easy Studies for Two Violins was published in 1932 and is made up of nine duets. Martin himself was a violinist and the beginning of his experiments in composing for solo instruments and small ensembles saw him write for his own instrument. The first volume of Easy Studies for Two Violins provides intermediate violinists with alternative and enjoyable studies, addressing a variety of musical features. As a varied compilation, Martin's Easy Studies for Two Violins is essential to aspiring violinists.

The ensemble music, implemented from the very first instrument courses, allows the student to become better acquainted with 'technical' elements such as rhythm, bowing and intonation. These small pieces for violins only can be prepared within the class, without the need to add external elements. The first 20 pieces require the same level of study for each component of the ensemble; nos. from no. 21 to no. 24 involve a more experienced violinist alongside one who plays only empty strings; from no. 25 to no. 32 there are pages of various kinds.Duets and trios mostly follow a traditional language: only some of them introduce a sparing use of dissonance. In any case, the score printing helps the control - visual also - of the other parts.
