Sous le titre de 'Kleinere Werke' [Small Works], le second volume des oeuvres pour orgue par Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach dans l'édition Wiener Urtext contient toutes les oeuvres écrites par le compositeur à l'exception des sonates plusieurs mouvements pour orgue: préludes, fugues, trio, choral arrangements et des pièces pour horloge musicale. Les fugues, en particulier, prouver que C. Ph. E. Bach était un élève attentif de son père. La musique théoricien Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg apprécié ces fugues tant qu'il a inclus certains d'entre eux à titre d'exemples dans ses écrits théoriques.
