Lorsque Jean-Marc Déhan et Jacques Grindel, dans les années 80, réalisèrent la collection ' voir et entendre ', celle-ci s'adressait autant aux collèges et lycées qu'aux conservatoires et écoles de musique. Il nous a semblé que cet outil remarquable pouvait, avec quelques ajouts, redevenir un outil pédagogique de tout premier plan.Le parti-pris a été cependant de réimprimer à l'identique les fascicules, mais en les enrichissant d'un court dossier pédagogique, donnant, pour chaque titre, des pistes d'utilisation complémentaires de celles déjà mises en lumière dans les partitions elles-mêmes.Il est possible d'utiliser ces partitions :- pour la lecture de notes -- pour la lecture de rythmes -- pour la dictée musicale -- pour le chant, en faisant chanter et mémoriser les principaux thèmes -- pour la formation de la pensée musicale : les thèmes mémorisés pourront être transposés à l'oreille et donner lieu le cas échéant à des autodictées -- pour l'analyse musicale et l'harmonie, grâce aux analyses fines de J.-M. Déhan et J. Grindel reportées sur la partition -- pour l'histoire de la musique grâce aux textes de présentation -- et, bien sûr, pour l'écoute raisonnée des oeuvres en suivant tout simplement la partition, quitte à faire porter l'audition sur des éléments précédemment indiqués par le professeur.Chaque professeur pourra adapter ces exercices au niveau de ses élèves.Mais ces partitions sont également destinées aux amateurs éclairés pour qui la lecture des clés d'ut dans les partitions d'orchestre habituelles, ainsi que le casse-tête des instruments transpositeurs sont souvent des obstacles rédhibitoires.Souhaitons seulement que cette réédition permette une meilleur connaissance par tous, jeunes et moins jeunes, futurs professionnels ou amateurs éclairés, de quelques oeuvres fondamentales du répertoire.N.B. Après bien des hésitations, nous avons décidé d'indiquer des liens vers des interprétations des oeuvres elles-mêmes et des écoutes complémentaires que nous avons suggérées. The Musical Offering (Das Musikalische Opfer) BWV 1079 is a collection of canons and fugues and other pieces by J.S. Bach all based on a single musical theme given to him by Frederick II of Prussia to whom they are dedicated. The instrumentation is still a matter of debate some scholars stating that apart from the trio sonata the rest of the pieces are meant for solo Keyboard.In this volume we present the Canons for Flute two Violins Obbligato Harpsichord and Basso Continuo.

In the vocal oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach the arias scored for obbligato flute for two flutes or for oboe constitute a dazzlingly varied repertoire. Treated on an equal footing with the vocal part the obbligato parts assume solo duties in many pieces. During his teenage years he enrolled at St. Thomas's School in-Leipzig where he had been accepted as one ofJohann Sebastian Bach's pupils. He frequently played Harpsichord at the weekly practices of Bach's Collegium Musicum and was generally acknowledged to be one of his best pupils. During his lifetime he served as organist or court musician in the German towns of Zwichau Zeitz and Altenburg.

Eight Little Preludes And Fugues BWV 553-560 formerly ascribed to Johann Sebastian Bach. Although it has not been possible to identify the composer of the 'Eight Little Preludes And Fugues' Alfred Dürr writes in his preface to this edition 'Since the value of a musical work is in no way dependent pm whether the composer is known or not the hope remains that the delightful and appealing music of the Eight will find enthusiasts in the future despite the fact that they no longer fulfil their former task namely to introduce 'typically Bachian' elements to the future organists.
