Herbert Howell's Requiem written for unaccompanied SATB chorus and soli. Although written in 1936, Requiem was not released for performance until 1980, held back by Howells following the death of his son in 1935. It is a harmonious and deeply Romantic composition, but restrained and it is at these moments we realise how affected he was by his loss. It was the composer's intention that Requiem should be performed a cappella, however he provided a limited organ part, for rehearsal purposes only, which is included here. / Chant Et Piano

Poul Ruders' Star Prelude And Love Fugue is a work for Piano solo dating from 1990. Programme note Star Prelude and Love Fugue is the fruit of “a wonderful stay in Tokyo in March 1988” (the composer’s words). The two pieces were composed in February 1990 and they are dedicated to Japanese pianist Aki Takahashi who gave the premiere performance at the Lerchenborg Musikdage on 3 August 1990. The prelude is a fantasia on the prelude of Act Two of Poul Ruders’ opera Tycho (1986) about Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (which should explain the title). The theme of the  Love Fugueistaken from the opening bars of another earlier Ruders’ work namely the a cappella motet Charitas Nunquam Excidit (which is Latin for “love never ceases”). The following fugue is purged of the genre’s traditional gravitas as is already signalled by the expression mark 'Swinging'. I oktober 1997 blev Carina Wøhlk ansat som sogne- og funktionspræst ved Helligaandskirken i København hvor hun stadig har sit daglige virke. Carina Wøhlk har blandt andet medvirket i programmet 'Ved Dagens Begyndelse' på P1 og bidraget til andagtsbogen 'Lad Livet Leve' (Unitas Forlag). Hans Ole Thers er uddannet på Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium samt i Paris hos Maire-Claire Alain og André Isoir. Han blev i 1985 ansat som organist og klokkenist ved Helligaandskirken på Strøget i København. Her er han leder af kirkens omfattende musikliv. Endvidere engagerer han sig i undervisning af et stort antal studerende i orgelspillets mange discipliner. Blandt hans specialer må nævnes tysk barok fransk romantik og dansk kirkespiltradition herunder improvisation. Sideløbende hermed har han en udstrakt karriere som orgelsolist i ind- og udland. Hans Ole Thers har indspillet talrige compact discs blandt andet en komplet udgave af Widors 10 orgelsymfonier. Han har modtaget en række legater herunder det franske statslegat.
