This is a special arrangement for double bass choir of the choral piece Silva Caledonia, written for the Estonian National Male Choir, which sets a text by the Scottish poet Edwin Morgan. It was first performed by them in April 2006. The double bass version was written for the large group of basses, 22 for the first performance, at Basses Loaded, the annual concert from Gary Karr's summer school in Victoria BC. A lively carol setting the anonymous 16th-century text ‘All this time this song is best: Verbum caro factum est [The word was made flesh]” originally composed for the choirs of Harrow School England. The main SATB chorus is supported by a semi-chorus of tenors and basses which may be positioned a distance away and the clever interplay between the two groups coupled with the syncopated rhythm and close yet approachable harmony make for an exciting carol both to sing and to hear.

Violoncello and Contrabass-Mozart's Sancta Maria Mater Dei K.273 scored for mixed choir (SATB) Strings and Organ. Written in Salzburg in September 1777 it was most likely composed as an offertory motet for the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary on the 12th September.

Commissioned by the Hickory NC Choral Society for their 35th anniversary season Dan Forrest's Requiem For The Living is scored for mixed choir with solos for boy soprano and/or mezzo-soprano soprano & tenor.
