Of particular importance is the Quintet, which was premiered by the Rosé Quartet, with the composer at the piano, and described as a resounding success. Opus 32 Nr. 5-Sergei Rachmaninov?s second book of Préludes op. 32 was written in the summer of 1910 at his family?s idyllic country house in Ivanovka. This sleepy rural area inspired the composer to this wonderful Impressionistic G-majorPrélude. It is not very difficult and is thus also suitable for advanced amateur pianists. Thanks to the cooperation of the Glinka Archive in Moscow all the autograph sources were consulted for this Henle Urtext edition of thePréludes. As in all of our Rachmaninov editions the fingerings are by Marc-André Hamelin.

Composed by Eugène Bozza in 1947  Short Suite In Trio Form Op. 67 is a piece for Oboe Clarinet and Bassoon. This edition features the parts for the three instruments and a full score. This four-movement work is quite difficult and would be perfect for advanced players. A great piece for recitals it is also really interesting to play for each of the three instruments. The four movements are Allegro moderato which starts with the Oboe Allegro vivo Adagio espressivo and Allegro vivo and the piece lasts approximatively 10 minutes. The initial two choirs for which it was composed were comprised of around 200 and 40 voices, while the score for this version is for a choir of baritones and an SATB choir. The Organ part requires an advanced-level of ability as it contains some difficult parts. Divided into five sections, the entire work has been transposed one half step lower ‘ to avoid the awkward key of F sharp major'. These sections are: 1. Kyrie (Moderato & F# minor) 2. Gloria (Vivace & Lento, D major 3. Sanctus (Con brio, A major) 4. Benedictus ( Piú lento, A major) 5. Agnus Dei (Moderato, F# major) This really delicate and emotive Mass, Op. 36 is a piece that stands out by its majesty. The great Fantaisie Italienne is a piece composed by Eugène Bozza and transcribed for Alto Saxophone and Piano by Marcel Mule. Quite difficult it requires some advanced skills to be executed perfectly. Starting Moderato it opens with a cadenza which includes some Solo Saxophone sections and continues with a short and lyrical melody. It closes on a nice rhythmic section in Allegro. Really nice to play and to listen to  Fantaisie Italienne is amazing to demonstrate your skills and technical abilities during a recital and a concert. Jour D’été À La Montagne by Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) is a famous Flute Quartet published in 1955. Technically and musically challenging this piece was written for advanced flautists. Summer days in the mountain was composed in four movements: 1. Pastorale 2. Au bord du torrent 3. Le Chant des fôrets 4. Ronde. These four movements are all well-crafted to captivate the attention of the flautists (with their technicality tempo and musicality) but also those of the audience. Conte Pastorale is a piece for Oboe and Piano accompaniment by Eugène Bozza. Dedicated to F. Legrand a professor at the Valenciennes Conservatoire this work is quite difficult and would be ideal for upper intermediate/advanced players. It is divided in three parts: 1. Moderato 2. Andantino 3. Allegro - Scherzando This volume features the score and parts. It is a really nice for concerts and recitals. Son of a military bandleader Xavier Leroux (1863-1919) was a French composer who studied at the Paris Conservatoire under Jules Massenet and Théodore Dubois. Although primarily known for his Operas Leroux's Deux Romances for Flute and Piano remain prominent in the instrument's repertoire. Dedicated to Philippe Gaubert the first Romance is composed in A minor. Characteristics are typical of the French romantic era such as semiquaver flourishes use of the sultry lower register of the Flute variations in articulation much use of performance directions and chromaticisms among otheraspects. For all aspiring advanced flautists Leroux's Deux Romances make for a sublime addition to the repertoire.
