Written for a Quintet with Violin Viola Cello and Bassoon and Piano the Quintet in A Major (Trout)Op.114 is a wonderful early composition by these great Austrian master. It was Franz Schubert's first turly significant chamber work and this 1819 piece is indicative of his romantic genius and melodic warmth.

En Vol. 2 de la sonates pour violon, par Robert Schumann, le Wiener Urtext édition présente la Sonate F.A.E. composée conjointement par Schumann, Brahms et Albert Dietrich, ainsi que la version éditée, avec les mouvements de Brahms et de Dietrich remplacé, comme troisième Sonate de violon de Robert Schumann. La présente édition est basée sur l'édition publiée en 2002 dans la nouvelle édition complète de Schumann et donc sur les plus récentes conclusions musicologiques. Dans le cas de la Sonate F.A.E., c'est surtout une question de légers changements dans les domaines de la dynamique et l'articulation. Dans le cas du troisième Sonate de violon de Schumann, la présente édition diffère plus significativement la première édition, publiée en 1956 et la nouvelle édition légèrement révisée de 1988. L'ordre des mouvements moyens dont l'exactitude ne peut être clairement déterminée jusqu'à maintenant a été modifiée, par rapport aux éditions précédentes, en raison des documents nouvellement trouvées. Ed Hughes' Secret Sky for Piano Quartet.Secret Sky was commissioned by the Schubert Ensemble's Chamber Music 2000 project and has been performed by school children in the south west of England and in the Purcell Room by music college students. The piece lasts 4 minutes and aims to create an evocative sound scape through pools of modal harmony created by a mix of piano repeating patterns and melodies in the 3 strings. As in all my work the ebb and flow of line is important to the development tensions and resolutions of the piece. The piece is probably suitable for players of the standard of at least Grade 6. Par MUSTONEN OLLI. The first movement of my Piano Quintet is filled with drama and passion. Its atmosphere can be related to my Second Symphony Johannes Angelos. The second movement is a set of polyphonic variations in a form reminiscent of a passacaglia. The music seems to be hypnotized by a theme consisting of a chromatic cluster of ten notes. In the beginning of the last movement, materials from the previous movements start to reappear, but this time in a mysterious, incoherent way. The strings find new music resembling a fragmented hymn. Ces sonates sont parmi les oeuvres epoch-making du répertoire pour violon et aujourd'hui figure dans le répertoire standard de tous les violonistes. Il est d'autant plus surprenant, donc, que jusqu'à présent il n'y a pas eu édition Urtext de ces travaux importants.Le score est basé sur une première édition supervisée par Corelli lui-même. D'après ce que nous savons de la performance en temps de Corelli, cependant, était plusattend de la violoniste qu'une lecture musicale de la partition imprimée: il était d'usage d'ajouter des ornements à la limite de l'improvisation, avec l'embellissement et 'variations' comme vous le souhaitez. La partition originale est doncprésenté ici avec le plus documenté l'ornementation d'une réimpression publiée par Roger à Amsterdam en 1708. Cette ornementation n'est pas destiné à être servilement imité, mais de stimuler le lecteur à trouver leur propre interprétation créative et stylistiquement confiant de la partition. Comme Roger n'a pas précisé les ornements pour les sonates dans le deuxième volume, les 'variations que désiré' utilisé par l'élève de Corelli Geminiani ont été reproduites avec la Sonate neuvième exemple. Conseils sur les performances est donnée par la Cologne baroque spécialiste Reinhard Goebel. Ce conseil ne s'applique pas seulement à l'ornementation, mais aussi de l'articulation, coups d'archet et d'autres choses encore, appelant à des marquages ??spécifiques dans la partie de violon séparée.La réalisation de la partie de continuo fait écho à la mode de l'époque. Ici aussi, des conseils sur la performance vise à stimuler la libre interprétation par le joueur de continuo. In addition to orchestral forces it is also possible to use achamber setting with string instruments one to a part. This chamber music edition accommodates this option thereby enriching Mozart's charming chamber music with Piano.These editions of Mozart's Piano Concertos are based on the Urtext editions published in the New Mozart Edition. In the present arrangement for two Pianos the solo part - as well as the strings - are unchanged and thus identical with the version in the NMA.
