Two of Telemann's finest Sonatas from his Essercizii Musici for Treble Recorder and Basso continuo. Editor Waldemar Woehl also realized the figured bass. The 1st and 2nd movements of Sonata in D Minor TWV 41 are included in the ABRSM Flute Grade 6 Syllabus.

Woodcock's only surviving compositions are a set of twelve concertos (3 for flute 3 for recorder and 3 for oboe) published by Walsh and Hare in London circa 1727. The concertos were originally published under the title: XII Concertos in Eight Parts the first three for Violins and one small Flute the second three for Violins and two small Flutes the third three for Violins

The Chinese Pictures for solo flute (s) (1993) were composed for the premiere played by the solo flutist Walter van Hauwe but Yun also wished for a performance by German flutes. The four pieces which Yun composed in June 1993 in Hohegeiß/ Harz are characterised by the reduced structural capacity of his style the memories of far eastern flute-idioms - with the exceprion of the third piece Der Affenspieler - and a Buddhist pattern. Yun consistently limits his work: all pieces come from techniques of the evolved variations and contrastive adaptions from (repsectively different) two- or three-toned themes. The first two pieces have the contemplative tenor as well as the spiraldramaturgy of the upward auched semi-circle the archetypal symbol for heaven in common. However the themes are conflictive: Bigger intervals abound the single tone in I. Der Besucher der Idylle whereas the tight coupling with the 'main tone' through smaller intervals in II. Der Eremit am Wasser evoke a softer sound. This clearly mirrors the impression of the single tone as a brush mark. Both pieces are - just like IV. Die Hirtenflöte - inspired by various variations of the story of the shepherd and his ox which in east Asia is used to name the 'inner child' of a human. The title if the first piece in the autograph is Der Besucher der Eremitage and refers to Buddhist hermitage. The visitor of this idyll is the farmer who leads his ox to the water for him to drink. The continuation of this parable is expressed by the second piece Der Eremit am Wasser. Together with the farmer the hermit comes to the water and rinses his ears. The farmer asks him why he would do that and the hermit responds: 'I was in town at the royal palace. I was to be empoloyed as sergeant and got offered a good payment. But when I asked what I had to do I heard terrible things. That is why I have to rinse my ears. ' The farmer however is disgusted by the contamination of the water; he leaves the fountain without letting his ox drink. The title of the third piece

Twelve Fantasias for treble Recorder solo based on the fantasias for flauto traverso solo TWV 40:2-13. This arrangement of Telemann’s “Twelve Fantasias” for treble Recorder is based on our edition for solo flute BA2971. With the exception of Nos 4 5 & 12 which were transposed up a fourth for the Recorder all other fantasias are transposed up a third following a technique often used in the 18th Century. The Fantasias for Flute without bass address themselves less to the virtuoso than to the amateur flutist who will find everything he wishes in these pieces. Although Telemann himself mayhave lost track of his works the many flutists who have perfected their technique and musical interpretation with the help of these lovely Fantasias will never forget them.

British Melodies-These English Scottish and Welsh melodies are especially well suited to performance on the soprano recorder. They also provide excellent material for developing skills in rapid tonguing extended breath-control phrasing and theplaying of high notes. Although arranged primarily for soprano recorder most of these solos can be played on tenor or alto recorder. (On the alto use C fingerings.) Old favorites include Bunessan Colonel Bogey My Eyes areFully Open and a few masterpiece solos by Handel and Purcell. Among the newly re-discovered gems are Earl Grey I Wish You Would Marry Me Now Kiss Me Quick My Mother Is Coming and Small Birds Sweetly Singing. A separate fluteedition is available.

Pour Flûtes à Bec en Ut (Ou Traversières) Luth (ou Clavecin) et Viole De Gambe-From the collection The Ancient Flute by Jean-Claude Veihlan Folie D?Espagne is a piece for Recorder and Lute Harpsichord or Viol. Initially part of the 'Second Book Of Pieces For The Viol' by Marin Marais this work contains 32 verses and requires advanced skills and technique (rapid rhythms accidentals).  It is based on ?The Follies Of Spain? in terms of tune theme and rhythms and this edition also includes the parts for the Flute alone. Marin Marais (1656-1728) was a French composer and master of the Viol. He wrote many pieces for the Viol some triopieces and some orchestras.  Jean-Claude Veihlan is a French musician and woodwind professor who recorded numerous pieces from famous composers. He transcribed many pieces that he adapted for the Recorder.

With these new editions all six recorder concertos of John Baston are now available each with score piano score and parts. The thor-oughly edited scores follow essentially the first edition printed by John Walsh in London in 1729. Baston was regarded as an excellent recorder and flute player who worked with London opera orchestras in the early 18th century. His easy concertos anticipating the elegant melody of the early classical period enjoy great popularity representing a rewarding task for music school orchestras and advanced recorder players.
